Content Moderation on Segmind: Your Questions Answered
At Segmind, we get a lot of questions about what kinds of images can be generated on our platform and what safeguards are in place. Here are two of the most common questions we hear from new partners and developers.
Can I generate suggestive (SFW) content: like lingerie or bikini imagery — on Segmind?
Yes, in many cases. SFW suggestive content such as swimwear or lingerie photography falls within the acceptable range for certain models on Segmind. Each model has its own built-in content filter with its own thresholds, for example, Google's models apply relatively strict filters, while open-source models tend to have lower filter thresholds and allow more flexibility. We recommend testing your specific use case with the model you plan to use to confirm it behaves as expected.
Are there controls to prevent NSFW or harmful content from being generated?
Yes, and this is enforced at multiple levels. As a platform, Segmind strictly prohibits the generation of NSFW material under our Master Cloud Services Agreement (MCSA). This includes explicit sexual content, underage content, and other harmful material. Most non-open-source models, including Nano Banana 2 and Seedream — have NSFW generation disabled by default. Some models also expose configurable filter parameters (for example, Nano Banana 2 accepts a filter threshold parameter) that let platforms fine-tune what content is permissible, always within the bounds of Segmind's usage policies.
